is the oldest surviving complete medical system in the world. Derived from its ancient Sanskrit roots - ‘ayus' (life) and ‘ved' (knowledge) – and offering a rich, comprehensive outlook to a healthy life, its origins go back nearly 5000 years. To when it was expounded and practiced by the same spiritual rishis, who laid the foundations of the Vedic civilisation in India, by organising the fundamentals of life into proper system
Ayurveda thus offers a unique blend of science and philosophy that balances the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual components necessary for holistic health.

The word ‘Ayurveda’ is formed by the conjugation of two sanscrit words ‘Ayur’ means life and ‘Veda’ means science.Hence it is the only science which deals with every living being and net merely the disease and treatment of human beings.Ayurvada is the only science which practices its theory of holism which deals with the body, mind, intellect and soul.

According to Ayurveda human beings are made up of three humours- VATHA, PITTA & KAPHA

VATHA : Represents all kinds of activities of the body which we call as the nervous system that control the actions.Hence is responsible for locomotions also.

PITTA :Represents all kinds of chemical reactions in the body, mostly that of the digestive system where the alchemy is more prominent.

KAPHA: Represents the stability if the body.
In a person if Vata, Pitta & Kapha are in equilibrium he is a normal person. When the equilibrium is disturbed by so many other factors, he is called sick.

“Sama Dosha Samagnischa
Sama Dhatu Malakriya
Prasannatmendria Mana
Swastha Etyabhidheeyate”

“Nityam hithahare vihara sevee
Sameekshyakaree vishayeshuasaktha
Dadasama satwapara kshamavan
Aptopasevee cha Bhavatyaroga.”

Which means…..
A person who takes normal food and activities
A person who has no lust
A person who is matured with kindness and patience
A person who follows the elder’s words and deeds
That person will not fall sick.
